“I’ve been part of Cortonwood Come Back Community Centre for as long as I can remember. As a child, I loved going to both youth clubs, which led to my first job working there later on. I also attended the youth theatre for five years, where I grew my confidence, made lifelong friends, and found a real sense of belonging. During a hard personal time, I turned to the benefit advice service, and their support helped me figure out the best path forward for my one-year-old son. I even did my Year 10 work experience at the Centre, and every time I’ve been there, the people have been so caring and genuinely supportive. It’s a wonderful environment to be yourself, and it helped me blossom into who I am today—a marketing manager in engineering. I’m grateful for the role this place has played in my life.”
