Cortonwwood Comeback Community Centre

The South Yorkshire Green Social Prescribing Grants Programme

Cortonwood Come Back Community Centre is honored to be funded by The South Yorkshire Green Social Prescribing Grants Programme. This initiative provides vital support to community groups, social enterprises, and charitable organizations across South Yorkshire, empowering us to make a significant impact with targeted, accessible funding.

About the South Yorkshire Green Social Prescribing Grants Programme

This funding program is designed to help organizations like ours address and prevent mental ill-health across the region. By supporting “green” and “blue” activities—engagements with nature, outdoor experiences, and activities around water—the programme enables us to offer therapeutic and restorative experiences that improve mental well-being.

Our Green and Blue Activities

With this support, Cortonwood Come Back Community Centre is able to offer a variety of activities designed to provide relief from isolation, stress, and emotional strain. These experiences range from gardening and nature walks to community clean-ups and water-based recreational activities. These programs cater to a broad spectrum of mental health needs:

Low-Level Emotional and Psychological Needs

For those experiencing loneliness, worry, or low mood, we provide safe spaces and uplifting activities designed to promote calm, connection, and confidence

Mild to Moderate Mental Health Needs

Our programs support individuals with mild depression or anxiety, helping them benefit from the soothing effects of nature and exercise.

Severe and Enduring Mental Health Conditions

For individuals dealing with long-term mental health challenges, our activities offer a consistent, supportive environment that aids in recovery, promotes positive routines, and helps prevent relapse.

Our Mission in Mental Health and Well-being

With The South Yorkshire Green Social Prescribing Grants Programme’s funding, we’re committed to making a lasting impact on the mental health of our community members. These “green” and “blue” activities offer more than just a break from routine—they serve as essential supports in managing mental health, promoting physical wellness, and creating stronger community connections.
